The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication. This 14K yellow gold 1963 Rolex Datejust ref. 1601 features a rare and transitional underline underneath the "SCOC" text, which represents the transition of luminous materials. CASE & BRACELET

The excellent 14K yellow gold case retains thick and symmetrical lugs with light signs of use and has been lightly polished in the past. The 14K yellow gold fluted bezel has been very lightly polished in the past and is in great overall condition. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap with a gold toned buckle.

DIAL & HANDS

The "Swiss" only "pie pan" silver sunburst dial is in overall great vintage condition showing light marks and signs of aging consistent with the age of the watch. The dial features the sought-after and elusive underline underneath the SCOC text. The early tritium lume plots have aged to a subtle cream color and exhibit light degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The non-luminous yellow gold alpha hands are in excellent condition. The metallic gold date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
