One of the largest evolutions for the Rolex Datejust model lineup was at the end of the 1970s with the introduction of the first "flat dial" Datejust. The movement was vastly upgraded to the Rolex cal. 3035 quick-set movement. These Datejust variations are often referred to as "transitional" as they still feature the more classic acrylic crystals and tritium lume whilst housing many advancements.

CASE & BRACELET
The exceptional case shows honest signs of use and exhibits no signs of being previously polished but does have a subtle sleeve polish from wear, the lugs retain factory dimensions and crisp angles throughout. The 14K yellow gold fluted bezel is also very crisp and features honest signs of light use. The original Rolex 62523H.14 two-tone Jubilee bracelet with 455 end pieces retains 21 links that show minimal stretch and will fit up to a 7 3/4-inch wrist.
DIAL & HANDS
The original silver sunburst dial features black and gold markers that create an excellent contrast and the dial itself is in perfect condition. The large tritium lume plots exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light and have achieved a beautiful golden-yellow patina. The original tritium yellow gold hands match the dial perfectly with no degradation present under UV light inspection. The metallic date wheel is original with "open" 6's and 9's.
