On an extremely limited basis, Rolex manufactured timepieces featuring exotic materials. Such as dials made from various minerals, woods, and stones including; black onyx, burl wood, lapis lazuli, opal, birch, fossil, coral, aventurine, sodalite, and ferrite, among others… These exotic variants are always strikingly vivid with a minimalist design and each exotic variant was produced in very limited numbers. With rarity varying between materials, the more rare the material was, the less Rolex produced.
In 1988 Rolex released the cal. 3155 also known as the "double quick-set" movement, which allows the quick setting of the day and date complications by rotating clockwise/counterclockwise while in position two making the setting of the watch quick and easy.
Good examples of these exotic Rolex Day-Date references have become exponentially harder to find because of a cult following surrounding them, and a lack of circulation due to the coveted value each unique dial retains. In other words, collectors love these watches and rarely sell them, so when they come up for sale it’s always special.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent and lightly worn 18k white gold case appears to have been very gently polished in the past and retains very thick and symmetrical lugs that exhibit crisp brushing and factory dimensions. The 18k white gold fluted bezel is in wonderful overall condition with only light signs of use. The case back shows almost no signs of use. The 18k white gold Rolex 8385 president bracelet retains 21 links that show minimal stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist. The watch comes with 3 additional bracelet links as well.
DIAL & HANDS
The exceptionally beautiful and vibrant sodalite stone dial is in flawless condition and pairs perfectly with the white gold case and dial elements. The dial features factory-set diamond markers that have been inspected and are original to the watch and look stunning with the sodalite stone. The solid white gold hands are also immaculate.
