The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it had been rumored that President Dwight Eisenhower began wearing one, however, Eisenhower wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1953. However the nickname President is quite fitting for the day date as  Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon, and Roosevelt,  all wore the Rolex Day-Date and is a symbol of status and luxury as the Rolex Day-Date is only made in precious metals most commonly 18k yellow gold and possesses both the day and date complications within the movement.

CASE & BRACELET

The gorgeous unpolished case retains crisp and defined factory finishing with only light signs of previous use. The 18k fluted bezel remain unpolished as well, exhibiting only minor signs of use. The original Rolex 18k yellow gold President bracelet is stamped 4/69 and retains 21 links that show very light stretch.

DIAL & HANDS

The rare and beautiful matte blue dial is a true show stopper, and in nearly flawless condition. The tritium lume plots feature a light yellow patina, and exhibit no degradation whatsoever under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely with no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The gold metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
